Dear sorors and community members,
As you have heard, read and seen in recent news, the contaminated waters of the Flint River have caused extremely elevated levels of lead to contaminate the local water supply. As a result, thousands of children and adults in Flint, Michigan have been exposed to drinking water with high levels of lead which may lead to a range of serious lifelong and life-threatening health problems.
We appreciate and applaud the clarion call issued by the Flint Alumnae Chapter in responding to this crisis and to the residents of Flint, Michigan; however, in view of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s Delta Internet Guidelines policy, “Chapters may not use crowd-funding services.” As a result, the Flint Alumnae Chapter is now working in close collaboration with The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) to continue this important work. Your donations will be utilized to assist in support of the struggling families of the Flint area.
Please be assured that the Sorority is committed to providing long-term assistance and support. Tax deductible donations can be made online through the DREF website or the specialized link at: https://app.mobilecause.com/f/q5p/n.
In addition, checks can be mailed to:
